Gather in the Goodness
It's been a week of moody weather and rain here in the desert, clearing the way for this new moon in the watery sign of Scorpio. It feels like a perfect day to touch back in now that it's been a few weeks since my final sessions and classes at Red Mountain Resort.
One of my clients recently asked, "What are you going to do?"
My answer was, "Exactly what I've invited my clients to do in their own space of transition."
We're conditioned to move from an ending directly into a new cycle of beginning, but there's a powerful space betwixt and between chapters and seasons of living. The invitation is to pause and gather in the learnings and awareness of what has come to completion. In the abundance of the fall season, as we prepare to celebrate in a spirit of thanksgiving, it's time to harvest the richness of what we've created in our own lives.
This new moon wants us to dive deep in reflection. Gathering in the lessons learned, the clarity of what we don't want and what we'd like to call in to replace it. Taking time to appreciate the goals and milestones we've reached, the dreams fulfilled, the spark of an idea now manifest in form.
New moons are times to plant the seeds of new beginnings, but we easily forget those seeds are sown in the fertile soil we've been working and enriching over the many moons that came before. Now is the time to bless the soil of your life with gratitude for all that's gone into it. Remembering the challenges, the stuff that didn't go to plan, the heartache and heartbreak gets composted and contributes to what comes next.
If you've ever grown something, you know the joy of the harvest, even if it's just one wee tomato or flower that makes it. I invite you to join me tonight in lighting a candle, cozying up under the dark moon, and taking a moment to harvest whatever has come to fruition in your life right now. Take note of what didn't work out as well as you'd hoped and consider what you'd do differently. Let yourself feel the sense of accomplishment, no matter how great or small.
Gathering in the harvest is an essential step to discerning what comes next and preparing for the next season. Join me in breathing deep and perhaps baking a chocolate pumpkin pie to savor and reflect on the goodness of what has been and the promise of what's to come.
