Equinox blessings

Last night as I packed up the singing bowls following a sound journey, I realized what a rare gift this unexpectedly full week has been. Through private sessions, readings, and the journey, I've sat in-person with almost 40 people this week. Something that was a regular occurrence a year ago, returned in a new form. We were masked and distanced, but we were able to sit in presence together. As I stepped out into the night air, the frogs croaking their way into spring, the stars shining above, I had a moment of feeling the sweetness of gratitude for this ray of hope after a year of so much change and strangeness.

Each session for the past few weeks has been a variation on the theme of sourcing sweetness and joy as a path to restoration after the stresses and challenges of the past year. Hummingbird medicine has been our guide to the path of greater ease, joy, and beauty. Showing us where nectar can be found to revive us from exhaustion, rejuvenate our weary parts, and remind us to seek out the flowers.

This has been yet another week of shock and heartache with the shootings in Atlanta, renewed lockdowns and third waves. So much continues to be agitated from the deeps up to the surface of our awareness, both individually and collectively. In these moments of heaviness, it becomes even more important to remember where the nectar is found in our lives and in our communities.

Sweet release can be sourced from your favorite cup of tea, a well-made latte, a vibrant green smoothie. A moment to take a deep breath, feel your feet on the earth, soak up some sunshine, let the breeze kiss your cheeks. Nectar in my world is a clean kitchen or a bed neatly made when all else seems chaotic or too much to tackle.

What are your sweet spots? Your flowers to drink from?

As we move through the gateway of the Equinox passage today, remember to source the sweetness of this moment. Breathe deeply and envision yourself stepping over the threshold into an experience of greater balance, equilibrium and harmony in whatever way you need it, in whichever areas of your life would most benefit. The waves of the pandemic will recede, but we will each still need to fortify ourselves for the challenges ahead. We must remember the lessons we've learned and carry that wisdom forward.

One of my favorite prayers when I find a sweet spot, as I did after the sound journey last night, is "Thank you! More of this please!" 🙏🏻 Inevitably, the more we attune ourselves to sweetness, to sourcing nectar, the more readily we begin to find it, often in the most unexpected and humble places.

May you find the flowers and drink deeply of the nectar in your life, even when things are hard or heartbreaking. May we continue to caretake our wellness and the wellbeing of others as we move into more opportunities to be together once again.

Sending you a big dose of nectar from my heart to yours.
